You also need to remember that you should not offer grapes to hamsters at the same time you offer some other sweet fruit to the animal. However, if you reduce the quantity of all the fruits and offer the variety in a teaspoon, then it is acceptable.

There are several animals that have their specialized diets. However, when it comes to a hamster, these animals can have a wide array of foods. Most of you may not know that hamsters are omnivorous creatures. This means that they can eat both vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods. This will help the animal stay engaged in its natural behaviors that will also keep its stress levels down. Your pet will love to nibble on the hay and it may also act as a natural bedding for the animal. During mating seasons, hamsters may also use the hay to build their nests and to play with each other.
  • Unlimited Supply of Water: When it comes to water, it is essential that you rinse and refill your pet’s drinking bottle at least once a day. This will ensure that it gets a fresh supply of water that will also keep it healthy and well hydrated.
  • Chewable Treats: Your pet’s teeth are growing all the time. This is why it needs to nibble on different things, such as hay cubes, untreated softwood sticks, coconut shell or unbleached loofah every single day. You will find several varieties of hamster toys for your pet.

If hamsters could speak, they would have told you that variety is interesting in life. Keeping this in mind, it will not be a bad idea to keep your pet’s treats and food fresh. This is simply because stale or spoiled foods may not be healthy for them.

Always remember to give just the recommended quantity of grapes to your pet hamster. This is also applicable for any other treat that they like to eat. Give them the quantity they can eat at a time. Hamsters like to hoard their foods. Thus, it will be a good idea to get rid of any excess foods immediately after they are done with the eating. This will prevent them from hoarding it. Putting away fresh foods will just result in the foods getting spoilt. Eating such foods will simply make them fall sick.
